Lake Chabot is offering guided kayak tours. This popular tour is appropriate for beginners, children six and older, teens, adults, seniors and anyone who wants to explore Lake Chabot’s 315 acres and 8 miles of shoreline by water! The tours of the lake will be approximately 2.5 hours. Your seasoned tour guide will start with an introduction of the lake, historic details dating back to the 1700’s, 1800’s and how Anthony Chabot positively impacted the lake in 1874 and how it’s been thriving for over a hundred years!
Certified kayak instructors will provide a brief kayaking training session to get everyone familiar and comfortable with the use of the kayaks and paddles. Then you will gear up and get onto the water. Life jackets, kayaks, and paddles will be provided.
This trip is not appropriate for small children, we recommend six years and older. Kayak tours scheduled during adverse water or weather conditions will be cancelled for your safety. The single kayaks have a maximum weight limit of 250 lbs. The double kayaks have a maximum weight limit of 500 lbs.
Kayak tours are very popular. Space is limited. We recommend making reservation as early as possible.
If you’ve previously visited Stan’s Cafe, then you know how tasty the cuisine is so we’ve made box lunches available for you to enjoy on your tour. The Guide will stop along the way for you to relax, take in the scenery and fuel up for the rest of your tour.
Our box lunches are available for $10 each and include a Bottled Water, Turkey, Ham or Veggie Sandwich (or make it a Wrap!), Chips, and Betty Ann’s housemade Chocolate Chip Cookie. Please note Betty Ann bakes daily so our cookie variety may change from day to day…and we invite you to come in daily to sample them all!
We’ve made it easy for you. When you book your kayak tour online, you can add boxed lunches for everyone. Don’t forget to include what type of sandwich you’d like and we’ll take care of the rest.
