Several limits were pulled out this last week with a lot of success from anglers trolling Kastmasters and Rapalas. Trout are getting pulled out trolling from the surface down to 15 feet. Firetiger lures and Kastmasters have been working exceptionally well the past couple weeks. Bass fishing is starting to pick up all around the lake with spawning season happening right now. Hopefully with this warmer weather coming this week, it will make catfishing and bass fishing more active too. Fishing from the shoreline have been doing extremely well too, but make sure to come early to claim your spot. If you are going out on a boat, some hot spots are around the island, half moon bay, Indian cove, also near raccoon point.
When you bring in your big fish, we will take your picture and give you a “Lake Chabot Whopper Club” button. If you catch a whopper over 5 lbs (trout), 8 lbs (catfish) or 3 lbs (bass) you will receive a whopper club pin. For beginning anglers, if you have any questions on what to use, please come down to the Marina and one of our knowledgeable staff will be more than happy to help you get set up for your fishing adventure.
